Three Boys roadtrip to North

The only bad reason why Penang roadtrip last weeked was a disaster was because of the traffic. Getting stuck in a no way out highway, jammed packed with school holiday + public holiday peeps and traveling at the speed of 30KM/hour was no joke. A simple 4 hour travel turned up to 7.5 hours drive.

Well, rantings aside ... I looked back at the pictures from my new toy (Yeap I bought a new camera!!!!) ... I have to say, it was a lot of fun and chat with my mates. MK and MC was great company and I certainly have to say it was like boys outing. Not to mention we look extremely cute in the wide angle pictures! HAHAHAA

Boasting off ... (do click on the pic for the bigger size view!)

Wide angle lens! Me likey

Damn, I love my camera details and auto exposure

SUPER WIDE LO ... SEE THE SHOT!

Boys = Clowns

Thank goodness we are cute ... lol, or try to be

Historical trails ...

Of course, Penang ... MUST HAVE FOOD

AND MORE FOOD

I hate ginger orange in this tiny cute cafe, pic uploaded on my tweeter instead

Night scene in Penang hill is fanatic

Evening scene ...

I think I look cute in this pic ... no?

Cam whore teruk teruk!

Me suka LX5 camera lo ... so wide ...

Thank you guys ... you have been great company

So ... this wasn't the best trip but definitely we are looking forward to include mr chubchub in our next outing. I believe next time around, without the crowd and longer weekend ... we will be able to visit more places with a peace of mind too.

BTW, Thanks Mr Watch for being a darling and Mr Alvin for the meetup!

Binge new clothes

It's amazing how the iPhone actually creates new market from it's existing hype. It is as if the phone is design to be fragile so companies like this one, particularly called Speck can actually reap profit from post iPhone spending! I am not complaining thou bcos Binge likes fashion a lot and she has been warning me about my carelessness in dropping things.

Yeap, MK and Chubchub, formerly know as caffeine sunshinebear has also been telling me that better to pay rm100 for a good wardrobe function for Binge, than have her ended up in the Hospital because apparent there are no insurance coverage for her. How obscene right?!

Thus, Binge is now officially wearing this

Darkest Tartan plaid from Speck ... yeap, Binge likes something that looks like Burberry too :p

Say hello to ...

Binge! (the e is silent anyway). Yeap, I usually name all my beloved stuff. As of now, I have babe (my D80 Nikon camera), Boo (My Polaroid camera) and Binge ... my first ever Mac product. I mean, first hand Mac and absolutely bought from my own wallet. Also, my first EXP phone man!

I still find the phone expensive, after all tech stuff should be cheaper nowadays. I remember getting the E71 and think it was absurd to pay RM1.5k for a phone but back then, I really wanted to see the receiver of the phone smile ... yeap, the mobile I been using for the past 2 years is not exactly mine. Hehe

The sense of achievement is there but something is missing ... anyway, never mind that!

So ... Binge is not exactly in the box. She is out of her shell sitting next to me ... smiling. Asking me to caress my fingers on her retina screen. By the way, all my beloved are females ya ... Binge is exceptionally beautiful. Think of Gisele Bundchen ...

Well ... a piece of advise for those who want to adopt and enlarge Binge's population, especially when you are getting it from the Maxis adoption center ... You got to prepare to wake up real early, strategically pick your weekday and location, and still have to spend more than half a day waiting. Details?

Maxis only release 50 units a day. I was lucky number 44 (the last 16gb) and the rest is 32gb. Then you gotta wait for them to photocopy and port your number (which takes an hour or so) and the long wait to purchase the device (which takes about 25 minutes average per phone) ... and then que to get your sim card sliced... and then usually people walk out with a dark, gloomy face ...

Let's do this the MBA style

25 minutes x 40 = 1000 minutes divide by 3 operating counter = 333 min = 5 hours, and to factor in other purchases like blackberry, nokia whose counter is shared with the iPhone ... bla bla bla ... ok ... in simple conclusion, I was there from 830am and only manage to get Binge at 430pm.

How did I survive?

I work in KLCC Aquaria remember? So I basically took a number, estimate the average wait and was there only about the end. If you have nothing to do, go waste time crowding the Maxis store. Or else, get ready with picnic basket, watering thumbler and a lot of entertainment. I strongly suggest catching up on drama series!

Ok, Binge is making noise. I gotta go entertain her! Tee hehehe

New wish list and a tumor?

I am currently updating my wish list...

The wish list will test both my management skills in financial and ability to resist spending on junks. Not exactly junk-per say ... but things that I do not necessary need or worsen the space issue in my wardrobe.

Anyway, remember that I rambled about my weight... I went on the weighing machine today and I am heaviest in my entire life. 69kg!!! I thought I put on weight on my belly ... or rather, politely said stomach but I am still able to wear my working slacks - at size 30. The 2.5 kilo increase was very sudden and within this few weeks ...

Its either I gotten muscle mass, which is quite ridiculous since I look the same ... or I got myself a tumor, which is very likely since my back aches more often now. The back part where people say it supports your entire body. Tentatively speaking, I better arrange a full body check up ...

Hmm ...

Worrying I must say but thank you to all the friends who had send their concern and comfort. I will be fine :-)

My next watch !?

I cannot believe I am doing this during marketing lecture. But we were talking about product differentiation and design. So, I googled and somehow found an interesting question. How come I like expensive stuff? For all the watched from Fortis ... I must like the one that is one of the most expensive.

Let me introduce you the Fortis Black & Black B-42, limited edition phantom watch. Notice that even the dial is "phantom"! Nice ~ Hehe

The other thing I like about this watch is that it is very exclusive. Only 2012 units available. Whether it is world wide or by country, I am still unsure yet. Cantik la! Compared to a Bell & Ross, I think I prefer this one.

Now, the only issue is locating the watch locally.

Invisible wishlist item - SLASHED!

The week flew pass! It really did. I had a string of projects on my table and for the first time since I started work, I was determine to deliver results and get feedbacks before my long holiday. Yeap, my hardwork attending to work while everyone was away on public holiday earned me the long weekend. I had my thursday and friday off from work

Although occasionally I had to pick up calls and entertain work, I spend most of my time doing mainly the things I wanted to do all month. I know I sound like an aunty who is probably "ku lao" - traditionalist in definition -, I went to the temple with my mum and dad, spend quality time with them the whole morning-late afternoon yesterday and when it was about time to study, I dread myself to open the thick textbook and read up on technical systems, jargons and case studies. Even when it was time to have drinks with my best buddies, MK and Caffeinne Sunbear, I took the liberty to bring my books and quickly note my points, while multitasking to hearing their stories and gossips.

As for today? I spend the entire day running around. Settling my Unifi installation (say hello to fast internet streaming), changed my mobile no. to a principal plan, had my ATM card problem fixed at the bank, running around Sgor and finally picking up this :

Yeap. My new gadget and latest camera toy. It's the Fujifilm Instant Camera I bought. I love polaroid pictures, instant pictures. There is just something about snapping the picture, seeing a blank photo slowly transforming into vivid mementos that probably only have one copy in time. It's just really cool ... The camera only cost a couple of hundreds (RM200 ++ retail price) but the costly investments comes from the instant film that you have to buy. It is about RM35 for 10pieces of polaroid pics. By the way, once you hit the shutter button ... there is no turning back. If unlucky, its like cutting a RM3.50 note with a scissors!

Fortunately ... I have contacts to get'em cheaper. Marginally ... but better than nothing ~

I am so bringing this fun new toy to Korea. Actually I bought it for Korea ... I just hope I can find some cute stickers to decorate my bue. Yeap, I name my camera bue. Nyek nyek nyek

I shall stop boasting and start planning about my strategy in tackling the questions for MIS exam tomorrow since I kinda like slack and lag in my revision for the subject. So much for taking my leave to prep for exam! Not that I really care about it since it is an open book exam ... But I really hope my brain and writing brain cells can work efficiently and effectively tomorrow.

They must, or I will rely on last-minute prayers to get through the 3 hours long exam period

Harrods and Iphones

It is always great to have friends abroad, especially those who will spend time out and catch up. Erwin Ko is one of them. Since I missed his birthday by one week, I decided to get him a nice gift ... something I know he will like

A HARRODS bear!

Hehe ... hope he likes it. By the way, we went hunting again today ... hunt as in shopping. Konon la dia mahu shopping, end up ... actually quietly wanting to get me a pressie. Sweet of him, but most of the belts I like ... either way to expensive or way no size ... We ended up with dinner, desserts and me happy tweeting using his new gadget

And so I played with his Iphone 4 and found out that there is this main problem with the phone. It only takes microsim cards. What the f**k is that? Google it ... So ... now the phone gotta wait AGAIN because I am not sure any telco from Msia carry or would "authorize" any grant of switching to microsim telco cards for mobile numbers. Although waiting is not an issue for me ... I really do not know how long my E71 can hold. The crack is getting larger and more obscure!

That said, I equally love the phone too to replace it with any other. Nostalgic memory and to be honest, the phone was bought at its peak price and the effort to get it during that time definitely left many great memories. I am sure Caffeine Sunbear would agree!

Ok ... time to sulk my way back to hotel and Malaysia. With a bad flu, fever and no Iphone4 to play with. Lemongrassboy is unhappy and demotivated ...

Tweeter or Blogger?

I realize that I tweet and blog alot. People do ask me ... why do you blog and tweet so often? Honestly, I do not know how to answer them. Instead I ask them back : Why do you FB so often?

The latest question I've gotten was "which do I prefer?"

Is that even a question? HAHA ... both these activities have taken most of my leisure time of looking at the rose bush, a metaphor la ... I cannot help it, I am a sucker for all these cool applications and with Caffeine Sunbear constantly introducing me to new apple applications and installing them on my -now-follows-me-around ipod, I tend to feel responsible to check my tweet and blog whenever I have time. You know, updates and catch up on friends ... Not that I endorsed electronic hi-byes and howdys.

So do I actually blog or tweet more often? I would say ...

Yeap ... I tweet more often! I love reading short public messages from my following peeps. One thing for sure, I won't carry a blackberry la ...

BTW, I STILL DO NOT WANT TO FB. Thank you!

The power of contacts

I love looking at the time now. It's been so long since I last owned a watch. My last watch was back in Melbourne and by accident, owning a Fossil. Yeap, high price to pay when you are in another country (especially one with higher exchange rate) and I so need to get the watch, fearing that the collection is not in Malaysia. That story aside,

Today.... I got myself a very good bargain. Not only the bargain was good. The watch I bought was marvelous, stunning and awesomely beautiful. Been to a few stores, and they all do not have it. The more it was out of stock, the more I anticipate trying it on.

After seeing it in the catalog and searching high-low for it, I finally found it sitting at Cortina @ Starhill! I love it and my disturbing wrist always have a bad way with watches but with this one, it sits like an ANGEL on Madonna's Rock! The salesman was also very patient and friendly despite the way I was dress. One word : simple.

Mr Watch was with me and he was so attentive in explaining the pros of getting the watch. ALL the details was properly transcend to me, from technical specs, aesthetic specs, financial benefits, brand quality, industry presence, acknowledgments of ownership and so much more. Although most of the time, my mind was only focusing on bonding with the watch via all my senses, touch, feel, sight, hearing the ticks (except actually tasting it) ...

The moment the price was mentioned, and how Mr Watch's connection and good contact-point with Cortina, they reduced the retail price and a further deduction was given for a good omen ("feng shui reasons") for beginners like me ... I said "I'll have it"

Mr Watch snickered, pat on my shoulder and said, welcome to the world of premium watches. For an entry level, that is a very good start at your age.

It's not something big, definitely not one of those "hard-to-pronounce" watch brands... but the Tissot I gotten, is good enough for me to drool in my sleep tonight. Time to slash another item off my wish list ... yahoo wee!

Perfecto = MX345 and clubbing!

This bunch of friends are definitely keepers. Mr Ng and Caffeine Sunbear with me ... testing my stupid camera phone. Being a photographer, I dare say that this camera phone is absolutely rubbish *with the England slang*

Well, it was a fun-filled weekend. A balance of study, work and hanging out with friends. Met new ones, kept old ones, disposed a few ones and catch-up with long lost ones. Got to packed up for gym soon, and probably kick Caffeine Sunbear out of my house, since we have been "IT"ing the whole day at my place. What to do, PC Fair ma! Reason to get new gadgets for my small home :P

I shall promote this machine I just spent on. The 4-in-1 wonder printer cum scanner cum copier cum faxer ... the Canon MX357, that comes in built-in wifi, pendrive reader and all the wonderful things you can have in a printer.

The only missing thing is a touch screen, but for rm470 ... cannot complain la

I absolutely love the machine, I hardly say this ... but deng, it is a bulk beauty sitting at the back of my living room. Since it is hooked on to my network, everyone can print! With no hassle on the wires! Now, when are these bunch of geniuses going to invent wireless power cable?

Singapore in March 2010

This song is playing in my head. Damn, I love her music

I had an awesome time today. I have to admit that I do like Singapore at times, especially going around, exploring and empty chatting with my partner in crime. Although my opinion still stands firmly (kindly see previous post : click here), which Mr. Partner in crime has agree ... we both still have our own tiny happy spaces in Singapore.

For one, I had the best Japanese Ramen and Char-siew Rice! EVER! Originated from Sapporo - packed with Japenese during lunch time, this tiny-cute-cossy lil restaurant is located at North Canal road, just walking distance away from Raffle Place MRT called Baikohken ... Trust me, the food is authentic and very delicious!

$14 - large portion of Syou Yu - butter & corn Ramen

$4.50 - one bowl of the Cha Siew Don ...

After lunch, we went straight to work ... at shopping mall searching for materials for our retails. Shopping mall doesn't really help me save. I did some shopping and got one of my wish lish item slashed. Yeap, a new leather wallet from Picard. A German brand wallet highly recommended by Mr. partner in crime himself. I got quite a good deal with a 20% discount, the wallet is not superbly expensive but looks not too bad.

My Picard wallet, which looks better in real

Either way, one less item to get! Yahoo WEE! Now, let me go slashed the item off the list ...

I met Francis for dinner too. He treated me to a nice dinner at Orchard Central ... It's an expensive restaurant serving shark fin soup as appetizer, then main course was abalone, finishing dessert with bird nest. The dishes may be only around $50 per person and may not be those high quality ones, but I feel so bad that he is treating. He refused my part of the share, naming Edward and Jimmy's courtesy whenever he is in KL ... now I feel triple the worse. But he told me to just relax and enjoy the meal.

I did ... with the promise to get him a great dinner back in KL when he visits. So here I am blogging about it.

Still thinking about my twitter account ... what la to put ?

Iphone

Ariel finally got her Iphone. Yeap, a combination gift from me, Angela and parents for her great achievement last year in her UPSR. It's amazing how kids grow these days, she knows the Iphone better than me and guess what, she's 13 and have one of the coolest gadget around. Even I don't have it yet! The great thing is that she is very careful with it and actually spent a great deal of time understanding the lil diamond.

Seeing her and Angela playing around with it ... I took the chance of exploring the application from James' Iphone. Amazingly, I do like it! Haha

One of the best thing ever created is the camera I would say! Look how cute I look! haha

Ushering 2010 with a great motivation

AH! LGB blog has succeed in surviving the 2010 year. Yes, the blog will still be active and I will still put facebook aside till then. I KNOW! I KNOW! FB is everywhere and everyone is using it... Until my boss really push the button, I am keen on sticking to my principles.

Anyway, I gotten two wonderful gift in ushering the new year. Happy new year everyone! As usual, I did not make any resolutions and do not plan to have any. So, keep the questions to yourself ... haha.

To the three most important guys in my life! Haha ... You guys are the best not because I've gotten a gift but rather the companionship and life experiences that you guys poured, shared and willingly to endure with me. To that, a great toast and may I say something cheesy ... It is an honour to have known you ...

Time for me to boast a bit with the gifts:

Jimmy for the designer shirt from Spore! He is always very different ... lol ... look at that t-shirt design!

James with his effort of making me a Starbucks fan ... Absolutely love the grizzly bear, that was his intention. HUGS!

and Kenny with his effort of making me a Prada fan ... which I am already there, now I got clutch that I can show off during my dinner outings! Hehe

Excuse the bad photography. Really had no time to artistically direct the shots. Hmm... better start taking pictures again before my skill go rusty and all... Maybe I should have set at least one resolution ... tsk tsk tsk

Something noisy lurking in my room

Something new in my room. Love it to bits! A blissful thankyou to the person who gave me this! Hehe

BTW, it is a JBL micro dock port for ipods. Basic terminology; speakers for ipods. Play really well music and was recommended to me by friends. Although not the color I wanted, but I guess the color matched my room. LOL.

Whore for eyewear

Yes, I am referring to me. In the past few weeks, I have collected some eyewears - a new found hobby! Today I saw this guy at gym wearing an Oakley Whiskers - glasses type. I didn't know that it came as a normal specs ... K used to have it but in the form of shades.

I am dying to get one for myself. DYING! It's not that expensive but lately, I am in debts. I have no choice but to put that idea aside till I clear my credit card.

Look at it ... BEAUTIFUL RITE? I didn't even know it look so rave and cool ...

Photobucket

For the Whiskers, no more shopping, no more expensive dining, no more eating outside, no more snacks, no more gifts, no more trips to overseas after Thailand, no more expensive hair cut and definitely no more spending unnecessary money!

Ok, back to editing photos so that I could upload them and sell them and earn more money! Buahaha ...

MAC? PC?

I love MAC ads! They are always so cool ... go to www.apple.com to find out why!

That said, I do not own any Mac! I also do not have any financial stability to own a lappie from MAC ... and what is worse is that, I even in some many ways "gave" my only MAC item - an Ipod away to a friend. So ... the only MAC product I have, sitting in my room is the white headphones from the Ipod. Sad case ... I know ...

Well, I will be posting up some pics real soon from my Genting Trip with the Camera-Photo Whores soon! Buahaha

Langkawi ...

... here I come! Can't believe it is August already. The last time it was August, I was back in Australia - enjoying spring. Sigh, time flies. Since I was back in Malaysia, I reckon life has not been really that bad. Work was not bad, could be better.

Anyway, I will be away on vacation with my family in Langkawi, far north for four days. Then, while driving back south, we will stop by at Penang for my graduation! Finally ... the ceremony is here! I am all packed and ready to go. I wonder will Vynn have enough time to meet me up.

Thanks Anthony for temaning me on Sunday! Lastly, I would like to thank all my friends for my blated birthday gifts; the three design books from PageOne Kinokuniya and chipping in for my future camera gadget. Hugs, Love ya'all.

Follow up Checkup

Was having problem blogging since a few days ago. Dunno why ....

I had my follow-up checkup today back in Sunway Hospital. After a string of bad experience there, it seems so weird to walk into the hospital again. My follow up results are good, no cancerous growth, the anal fissure is gone, wound is healing faster than what the doctor is expected and my doctor is getting richer. The consultation took less than 15 minutes and it cost RM60. Previously, when I was in the sick bed, each visit from Dr. Q cost RM180. My surgery was RM5000 .... No wonder he can afford that watch!

Anyway, I finally took some time exploring my D80. Had a mini little studio set up and some of the pictures turn out quite well. The pictures are fairly huge, but here are a few of them...

I just can't seem to get the whole background white. Perhaps it is the cloth, or lighting or maybe my camera setting.

Shot was taken outside my house, with a white cloth placed at the wall. I only used natural sun light. The effect wasn't there but the results were not that bad.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Overall, the shooting session took some time off my Monday afternoon. Setting up was time consuming, not having an assistant is quite troublesome and trying to get the photo you want is even harder. If you think taking picture is that simple, think again! Would just like to thank my two sisters for helping out even when it was hot outside.

Thank you Ariel and Angela, and the bunch of oranges!
